Illinois Hospice Ivan L. York 76 Oblong died Monday November 6, 2000 at his son's residence of cancer. Ivan was born October 18, 2000 in Crawford County, Illinois. He was the son of Dennis Allen & Viola Watts York. On December 24, 1954 he married Virginia Newlin who died in December 1988. Ivan was a retired general laborer with Local 1280 Robinson, IL. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Robinson Moose Lodge #1369 and Bridgeport American Legion Post. Ivan is survived by 4 sons and daughter-in-law, James E. & Mary York, Ivan L. York Jr., David Wayne York and Donald A. York; 1 daughter & son-in-law, Sylvia Darlene & James Arnold; 1 brother & sister-in-law, Everett T. & Edith York, 13 Grandchildren; 6 Step Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren and several Nieces & Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents, 6 Brothers Frank, Joe, John, Allen, Floyd and Raleigh York; 2 Sisters Martha McCamon & Sylvia Parish. Oblong American Legion Post #219 will conduct flag presentation at the funeral service. Mr. York's body will be cremated after the funeral service. |
